When you visit our Learning Center you will discover special touches in all corners of the building.
Upon entering you will immediately be connected to a historic barn, as you encounter majestic hand-hewn beams that once supported a dairy barn at Milk Can Corners Farm in Susquehanna Pa. The original barn was built in the 1700s, so these massive timbers were carved from trees growing in the virgin forests of the 1600s.
Historic wood from a grain silo was recycled to create the flooring and wainscoting in many areas of the building.
The beauty continues as you climb the winding staircase and enter the Common Room, which is a wonderful home for our summer camp. It begins with a gracious living room and state of the art kitchen and also includes four spacious bunkrooms.
The barn-like Gathering Place, also on the upper level, is breathtaking with its soaring cupola, antique wood and gracious windows that frame views of woodlands and pastures, focusing your attention on the beauty of NPF.
On the lower level you will find our main office, a classroom (home of our observation hive during the warm weather), and our wildlife room which houses a variety of interesting reptiles used in our programs.
