How to enjoy the property and trails
Our pastures and 2.5 miles of woodland trails are available to
NPF members for hiking, picnicking, and cross country skiing from
dawn to dusk.
- Do not touch the electric fences! These wires crisscross our pastures from April thru November and they protect our cows and sheep as they graze.
- Please do not feed our animals, they are on strict healthful diets!
- Please respect all of our teaching sites and gardens
- For your own safety, when hiking through our woodlands, please stay on the marked trails.
- Remember to leave a message on our machine, (203) 938-2117, letting us know you are coming.
- Please leave your dogs at home!
- Enjoy the property at your own risk.
Parking
We ask that you park in the gravel lot by the
Learning Center and make your way out onto the property.
Please do not drive down our farm road.
Sledding
Families may also go sledding and tobogganing on astronomy hill
Skating
Our pond never freezes predictably so we are sorry to say, "NO SKATING!"
Skiing
The pastures are a great place for cross country skiing. If you prefer skiing in the woodlands, please note that because of the steepness of the paths leading to and from the logging trails, we ask that you hike up with your skis, enjoy the trails, and then walk down when you are finished!
Learning Center Hours
Unless there are scheduled weekend or evening programs, the office will be open Mon.-Fri. 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
We open the doors to the Learning Center on the weekends so that people can use the facilities between 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Dairy Annex Hours
If you would like to purchase our freshly pasteurized milk and yogurt, the Dairy Annex is open everyday from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
The annex is attached to the eastern side of our main barn and convenient parking may be found in the circular driveway between the yellow barn and the white farmhouse.
