Fly Casting Workshop
Saturday, May 5, 1:00-3:00 pm
Have you ever wanted to try fl y fi shing? Here is your chance right at the pond at New Pond Farm! This program is an introduction to the gear, fi shing strategies, local resources, and elements of fly casting. You will also get a chance to try your hand at it.
Fee: $10/member family, $12/non-member family.
15th Annual Frog Frolic
Saturday, May 5, 10:00 am–4:00 pm
Come visit New Pond Farm’s display at Mark Twain Library’s annual celebration. We will have a wide variety of live frogs, toads and other amphibians from Redding. You can also enjoy outdoor amusements, crafts and games. Held at the Redding Community Center.

Annual Founders’ May Fair
Saturday, May 19, 11:00–4:00 pm
(rain date 5/20, 1–4)
Please join us as we celebrate the return of the growing season! Our verdant pastures and early spring gardens will provide a beautiful backdrop for activities such as Maypole dancing, sheep shearing, sheepdog demonstrations, and horse-drawn hayrides.
Meet and learn about calves, chickens and roosters. Try your hand at spring crafts, enjoy music by Lisa Furman and delicious food from Collyer Catering. Featured guest Bryan Bradley will fl y his owl, falcon and eagle at 2:30 pm (Saturday only). Please leave your dogs at home.
Fee: $5/person, $20 max./family.
Small fees for craft projects.
Family Farm Chores

Join Farmer Mike for a round of chores. You will help with the cows, calves, sheep, lambs, chickens, chicks and piglets! Dress for the outdoors–rain or shine!

Astronomy Program–Saturn and Mars

Join our team of amateur astronomers for a look at the night sky. Please bring along binoculars and a flashlight if you have them. Please park at the Learning Center and walk out to Astronomy Hill.

Project Turtle
Sunday, June 3 12:30 - 1:30 pm
Join John Foley, a local turtle researcher and CT Master Wildlife Conservationist for a look into the fascinating world of turtles. Did you know that over 40% of turtle species worldwide are in decline? Learn about local turtle species, identifications, habitats selections, the reasons for decline, and ways that we can help.

Family Camp Out (FULL)
Saturday, June 16, 6:30 pm
Join us for a camp out at the farm! After you pitch your tent, we will head to the marsh to find amphibians by moonlight and up to the observatory to have a look through the telescopes. Before bed we will roast marshmallows around the campfire. Wake early for a light round of farm chores and a homemade breakfast. Members only! Spaces are limited!
Fee: $50/family.
