Position
Title: Summer Camp On-Site Assistant Director (hiring 1) As a summer camp alternate director, you will enjoy living
and working on a beautiful working farm. Facilities include a bunkhouse/Indoor
Learning Center with accommodations for the campers and counselors, a full
kitchen, bathrooms with showers, laundry facilities, classrooms and meeting
areas. Daily activities include hiking, gardening/farming, swimming, astronomy,
arts and crafts and much more. Qualifications: Responsibilities include training and supervising of (2-3)
counselors, providing assistance to the campers and staff, act as first
responder to all emergencies, weekly reports to Camp Director/Program Director
on camp, assist with paperwork in compliance with state license, meet with state
and local inspectors during season to review paperwork,
oversee camper write-ups, create three session newsletters and overall
programming. Additional Preferred Qualifications: Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, Medication

Title: Summer Camp Counselor (hiring 3) Position
Description: New Pond Farm is a non-profit education center and working
farm located on 102-acres in rural West Redding, CT, about one hour north of New
York City. New Pond Farm offers a residential summer camp for inner-city youth
from CT and day camp for local children. The camp works with children 8-12 years
old, and consists of three 10-day sessions, totaling eight weeks of employment.
Established in 1985, our summer camp has given hundreds of inner-city children a
taste of life in the country, and a chance to live, work and play on the farm
for 10 days along side children who have grown up in the area Our camp is small
and personal (8 inner-city youth and 8 area children per session) which allows
our summer camp staff to have a positive impact on the campers. As a summer camp counselor, you will enjoy living and
working on a beautiful working farm. Facilities include a bunkhouse/Indoor
Learning Center with accommodations for the campers and counselors, a full

arts and crafts and much more. Qualifications: Applicants must be at least 20 years of age. Successful
applicants are experienced working with children of different backgrounds and
age ranges, have a love of the outdoors, are patient, team oriented and
creative. Our inner-city campers come from challenging backgrounds, and for
some, it is their first extended stay away from home. Assist the Camp Director with some degree of administrative
work. Assist (3) fellow counselors with programming, daily activities, cooking,
cleaning, laundry and behavioral management. Alcohol and drug free. Looking
for a certified Lifeguard. Additional Preferred Qualifications: CT Certified Lifeguard/Waterfront Director, CT Certified
Director of First Aid, Current CPR and First Aid Certifications, Certificate in
